Punjab has got its next Chief Minister in Charanjit Singh Channi. Channi was administered the oath of office by Governor Banwarilal Purohit at the Raj Bhavan. Charanjit Singh Channi belongs to the Ramdasiya Sikh community. On March 16, 2017, at the age of 47, he was made a cabinet minister in the government of Captain Amarinder Singh. Channi is the third time MLA from Chamkaur Sahib seat.
