MI vs RCB: RCB beat Mumbai Indians by 54 runs in one-sided match, Harshal Patel and Glenn Maxwell were the heroes of victory

In the 39th match of IPL 2021, the Royal Challengers Bangalore team defeated Mumbai Indians by 54 runs in a one-sided match. Chasing the target of 166 runs, the entire team of Mumbai was all out after scoring 111 runs. Harshal Patel bowled tremendously for RCB and won the first hat-trick of IPL 2021. He ensured Bangalore’s victory by dismissing Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard and Rahul Chahar within three balls. Earlier, batting after losing the toss, RCB scored 165 runs for the loss of 6 wickets thanks to the brilliant innings of 56 runs from Glenn Maxwell and 51 runs from captain Virat Kohli. Maxwell also took two big wickets with the ball.

Chasing the target of 166 runs, captain Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock gave a quick start to Mumbai and added 57 runs for the first wicket. De Kock scored 24 runs off Yuzvendra Chahal’s delivery. After this Ishan Kishan (9) could not show anything special with the bat. Captain Rohit Sharma was caught in Maxwell’s net after scoring 43 runs off 28 balls and was caught by Devdutt Padikkal. Suryakumar Yadav’s flop show continued in the UAE leg and he could only score 8 runs. Krunal Pandya was also clean bowled by Maxwell. After this, in the 17th over of the innings, Harshal Patel completed his hat-trick by dismissing Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard and then Rahul Chahar in the first three balls and sealed the victory of RCB.

Earlier, Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and invited Bangalore to bat first. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah caught opener Devdutt Padikkal in the hands of wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock on the fourth ball of the second over. Padikkal’s account was not even opened. Virat then shared a 68-run partnership with Shrikar Bharat for the second wicket. Bharat played an innings of 32 runs in 24 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes. Virat then added 51 runs for the third wicket with Maxwell. After completing his half-century, Virat was caught by substitute player Anukul Roy off Adam Milne. Virat hit three fours and three sixes in his innings of 51 runs off 42 balls. Maxwell hit six fours and three sixes in his aggressive innings of 56 off 37 balls. AB de Villiers could only score 11 runs in six balls and was out on the fourth ball of the 1st over. Bumrah sends de Villiers to the pavilion. Shahbaz Ahmed got out in the last over. Maxwell scored 17 runs in the 18th over of the innings but only nine runs came off the last two overs. Only three runs went in the last over. Bumrah was the most successful bowler for Mumbai with three wickets for 36 runs.
