Venkatesh Iyer has shown such batting in his first two matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 that everyone has been impressed by him. Iyer, who did not play in the first phase for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), got a chance to play in the second phase and he already won everyone’s heart with his batting in both the matches. After opening the thread of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowlers, Iyer also sank Mumbai Indians’ strong bowling attack. In the match played against Mumbai Indians on Thursday, Iyer scored 53 runs in 30 balls. During the match, Iyer also thrashed Jasprit Bumrah, one of the best fast bowlers in the world, but this fast bowler did something that fans are praising. During the match, when Iyer’s shoe lace opened, Bumrah went and tied his shoe lace.
Iyer hit four fours and three sixes during his innings. Batting first, Mumbai Indians scored 155 for six in 20 overs, in reply KKR chased down the target in 15.1 overs for the loss of three wickets. Apart from Iyer, Rahul Tripathi also played his bat fiercely. Chasing the target, KKR lost the first wicket for 40 runs, but after that Iyer and Rahul together reminded the Mumbai Indians bowlers of their maternal grandmother.
Rahul played an innings of 74 not out off 42 balls. During this, he hit eight fours and three sixes. With this win, KKR have moved up to the top-4 in the points table, while Mumbai Indians have slipped from the fourth position to the seventh position.
