Team India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya has not been in great form for some time now. His performance with the bat has not been good. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya did not make a complete comeback as a bowler. Former India fast bowler Ashish Nehra believes that all eyes will be on this Mumbai all-rounder due to Hardike’s fluctuating form. The second half of IPL 2021 is starting from 19th September. The first match will be played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.
Ashish Nehra said in a conversation with Cricbuzz, ‘Everyone’s eyes are on him (Hardik Pandya). I am not saying that he should always bowl all four overs, but if he can bowl a few overs to help Kieron Pollard, it will be a huge plus for the team. With the bat, he is an impressive player. His form has had its ups and downs over the past year, but he is someone who can turn things around quickly. So, Mumbai Indians would really expect a better performance.
Hardik was unable to score runs in the limited overs series against England in March this year. Apart from this, in the first phase of IPL, he was seen struggling to return to form even while playing for Mumbai Indians. His struggle continued in the limited overs series played against Sri Lanka recently. He scored just 19 runs in three ODIs and 10 runs in one T20 International.
