The second season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is to begin from 19 September and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will play their first match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 20 September. RCB captain Virat Kohli and fast bowler Mohammad Siraj are currently in the mandatory quarantine period, but most of the other players have started practicing. On September 15 (Wednesday), RCB players played an intra squad practice match, in which AB de Villiers’ bat roared fiercely. ABD made a quick century in the practice match. Apart from this, KL Bharat also contributed 95 runs.
Virat and Siraj were not part of this practice match. Devdutt Padikkal, Harshal Patel also came to play in this practice match. This match was played between RCB A and RCB B. Harshal Patel was the captain of RCB A, while Devdutt Padikkal was the captain of RCB B. Harshal Patel has taken the highest number of wickets in the current season. Harshal won the toss and asked RCB B to bowl first. Harshal’s decision proved to be absolutely right and RCB A scored 212 runs for four wickets. ABD hit 10 sixes and seven fours during his innings of 104 runs.
Apart from ABD, Mohammad Azharuddin played an innings of 66 runs off 43 balls. In the auction of IPL 2021, KS Bharat, associated with RCB, scored 95 runs in 47 balls. Padikkal scored 36 runs off 21 balls. RCB A won the match. RCB’s performance in IPL 2021 has been good so far. The team has won five out of seven matches and is currently at the third position in the points table.
